Frontman of New York band Stellastar* wins Oscar for his short film 'Curfew' | News | NME.COM: Shawn Christensen, the former frontman of New York indie rock band Stellastarr*, is an Oscar winner after picking up an Academy Award for his film Curfew.

The director/writer picked up the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film, joining a list of winners on the night that included Quentin Tarantino, Ang Lee and Daniel Day-Lewis. Curfew tells the story of a depressed man who is asked to take care of his young niece, and sees Christensen play the lead role as well as writing and directing the movie.
